Welcome to our little blog! We are so excited you have decided to check out the Gamma Nu chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon and see what we are all about. :) To start, I'll share a little bit of background information on our sorority and chapter so you can better understand who we are and where we come from.
Delta Phi Epsilon was founded on March 17, 1917 by our DIMES (Dorothy, Ida, Minna, Eve, and Sylvia) at NYU School of Law. Over 95 years later, on April 22, 2012, the Gamma Nu chapter chartered at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, OH. Gamma Nu was formed by merging together sisters from the local sorority Omega Pi Mu with new sisters to create a dynamic group of women committed to making a difference and living by our motto Esse Quam Videri - to be rather than to seem to be.
We have now initiated over 100 sisters into our chapter, growing greatly from just 26 Founders two and a half years ago. This semester alone we welcomed in our Epsilon class, held our first extremely successful whole-sorority fundraiser, and have gone above and beyond anything we have done in prior years. Our goal is to be a 5-star chapter one day, and we are well on our way!
We are proud of our successes, and we thought a great way to share them would be via a blog. We also thought that our blog would be a great way to hear from all of our sisters about their lives and all of the cool things they experience. Our sisters come from all of the world and have many great adventures, so this blog will be a little mish mash of sorority stuff and life stuff. Sisters will take turns blogging weekly about events happening in the sorority or in their own lives, so stay tuned for some exciting posts! We hope you will enjoy reading about our day-to-day lives as sisters in the Gamma Nu chapter.
Best,
Caity Cortez
